EITC Fact Sheets by House District

As a result of tax shifts approved in 2011 that dramatically reduced the Michigan Earned Income Tax Credit, those earning the least in Michigan paid $247 million more in taxes in 2012, than 2011, new data from the Michigan Department of Treasury shows. The Michigan League for Public Policy used federal income tax data available by legislative district from the Brookings Institution combined with actual statewide data from the Michigan Department of Treasury to estimate the impact by House and Senate district.
